THE BANK:

THE COMPLEX:
The Regional Development, Integration and Business Delivery Complex comprises five (5) Regional Development and Business Delivery Offices, one per region: North Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa, West Africa and Central Africa. The Regional Development and Business Delivery Offices are headed by Directors General. The Complex also includes a Special Office for Nigeria, a Department for Transition States and a Regional Integration Coordination Office.
One of the Complex's main mandates is to ensure implementation of the Strategic Framework for Regional Integration. The Strategic Framework for Regional Integration is the Bank's overarching strategy to support implementation of the Integrate Africa priority of the High 5s, Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Area. It is designed to accelerate the free movement of goods, services, people and capital across Africa. The Strategic Framework for Regional Integration is underpinned by major investments in regional infrastructure, particularly energy, transport, water and information and communication technologies.
THE POSITION:
The specific role of the Maintenance Technician is to participate in establishing the customer helpdesk, regular monitoring of customer requests and ensuring incident handling, evaluation of service providers and monitoring execution of the operating budget.
The position requires knowledge in HVAC, electricity, fire detection and suppression, and contract management.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
Under the supervision of the Special Representative for General Services, the Maintenance Technician will assume the following responsibilities:
- Monitor execution of operations and maintenance services for electrical and HVAC installations and equipment in the following Bank premises in Tunis: Zahrabed building.
- Monitor execution of operations and maintenance services for automatic fire detection and suppression systems in the Bank's premises in Tunis.
- Monitor quality of service delivery and conduct periodic evaluation of contracting companies.
- Participate in periodic regulatory inspection visits and monitor implementation of relevant recommendations from inspection offices.
- Monitor energy consumption (water, electricity, fuel and lubricants) at the Bank's Headquarters sites and track related statistics.
- Participate in the recruitment process for consultants, construction companies and service providers in the field of the aforementioned technical installations.
- Contribute to implementing renovation, improvement and rehabilitation projects for technical installations and equipment in the Bank's premises: electrical distribution, backup power sources (generators and uninterruptible power supplies), lifts, fire detection, air conditioning, technical management and other electrical equipment.
- In collaboration with the Bank's security services, participate in various awareness sessions and evacuation drills at the Bank's premises in Tunis.
- Review maintenance programmes established by the various service providers and monitor their implementation.
- Participate in technical management of meeting rooms at the Bank's offices in Tunis in collaboration with the departments responsible for their day-to-day management.
- Participate in preparing operating budgets for the Technical Equipment Section and monitoring their execution.
- Manage technical service provider teams under his/her supervision.
- Keep abreast of developments in techniques and standards in the field of technical installations and formulate recommendations.
- Perform all administrative tasks required by the position.
COMPETENCIES (skills, experience and knowledge):
- Hold at least bachelor degree in industrial maintenance or HVAC engineering or a related discipline with relevant skills in management and maintenance of electrical and HVAC installations or any other related field.
- Have at least four (4) years of relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of technical equipment and installations in public facilities.
- Provide proof of nationality or proof of permanent resident status with work permit in the proposed country of employment.
- Communication: strong communication skills in English and/or French, with a working knowledge of the other language;
- Good customer orientation
- Possess the ability to work in a team and have good interpersonal skills;
- Planning and organization: excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize own work programme; ability to complete tasks on time and efficiently;
- Possess good research, analysis and rapid information processing skills.
- Possess the ability to propose alternative solutions and establish frameworks for resolving technical maintenance problems.
- Possess skills in procurement of goods, services and works.
- Possess the ability to read and understand diagrams and instructions.
- Good written and oral skills in French with a good working knowledge of English.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Knowledge of SAP would be an asset.
