THE BANK:

 

Established in 1964, the African Development Bank is the premier pan-African development institution, promoting economic growth and social progress in Africa. THE COMPLEX:

 

The Regional Development, Integration and Business Delivery Complex comprises five (5) Regional Development and Business Delivery Offices, one per region: North Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa, West Africa and Central Africa. The Regional Development and Business Delivery Offices are headed by Directors General. The Complex also includes a Special Office for Nigeria, a Department for Transition States and a Regional Integration Coordination Office.

 

One of the Complex's main mandates is to ensure implementation of the Strategic Framework for Regional Integration. The Strategic Framework for Regional Integration is the Bank's overarching strategy to support implementation of the Integrate Africa priority of the High 5s, Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Area. It is designed to accelerate the free movement of goods, services, people and capital across Africa. The Strategic Framework for Regional Integration is underpinned by major investments in regional infrastructure, particularly energy, transport, water and information and communication technologies.

 

THE POSITION:

 

Short-Term Staff – Information Technology Clerk

 

KEY FUNCTIONS:

 

Under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant, the Information Technology Clerk will assume the following responsibilities:

 

  1. Initiate the development of web solutions for RDGN to facilitate rapid access to ready-to-use information for task managers, CPOs, economists and other key staff members.
  2. In liaison with the delivery team (developers and testers) and business experts (Director General, Economists, Task Managers, etc.), you will be the functional reference point for the progress of new platforms and the Information System (IS), enabling all the Bank's business needs to be met.
  3. You will therefore be involved in all activities relating to the design, evolution/maintenance and approval of platforms.
  4. Participate in constructing the architecture of the various platforms, in terms of analysis, advice and support to the various business stakeholders.
  5. Seek to gain an understanding of the entire existing IS at the Bank.
  6. Identify possible integrations with existing IS to reduce redundancy of information to be stored.
  7. Draft functional specifications for each platform.
  8. Collect, analyse and consolidate web content.
  9. Monitor and ensure compliance with schedules and processes.
  10. Be involved in the choice of solutions.
  11. Propose continuous improvements.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA (skills, experience and knowledge):

 

  1. Hold at least a BTS/DTS/DUT;
  2. Possess a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience;
  3. Provide proof of nationality or proof of permanent resident status with work permit in the proposed country of employment.
  4. Ability to work quickly and under pressure.
  5. Professional integrity, analytical rigour, discernment and judgement.
  6. Highly dynamic and motivated to work in the development sector and in an international environment.
  7. Good written and oral skills in French with a good working knowledge of English.
  8. Good working knowledge (IS Architecture, IS Development Strategy and Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
